Crafting Cool Clarity With All-White Interiors
08:32White is the colour of purity and perfection. Any colour goes with white, but should you have an all-white interior? Well, the short answer is yes! All-white interiors are timeless, white walls highlight architectural features and white decor makes homes feel larger and more spacious. For art lovers, there is no better background than a clean white one–just ask a gallery owner. Some people might think that white is an unimaginative choice but any colour decor can bring about a boring result. The truth is that white interiors preserve design clarity. A clean white slate offers the opportunity to toy with furniture shape, texture and lighting design without distraction

With an all-white interior, it’s up to the furniture design to be on-point. In this white living room, a designer armchair elegantly commands the seating area.
A graceful floor lamp bows into the lounge space, illuminating a chic white pedestal coffee table design. Gallery white walls grant due attention to a piece of fluid line art.
Since an idle TV screen puts a black blot onto the purity of an all-white interior decor scheme, it makes sense to conceal it in some way. In this case, handle-free doors take on the appearance of sleek white wall panels above the modern fireplace.
The panel doors draw back flat against the TV wall so as not to encroach on the lounge space.
Soft furniture upholstery prevents the white decor scheme from becoming too cold or clinical.
The living room’s flawless aesthetic flows through into the open plan kitchen diner design.
Illuminated shelves appear to burn more brightly in the simple white surroundings, without the visual complication of any added colour clutter.
The dining table is built into the kitchen island to merge silhouettes into one integrated volume.
Gleaming white cabinets evoke a clean and hygienic atmosphere for food prep.
A floating sideboard is underlit to match the LED wall shelves. The illumination highlights the subtle marble vein in the white wall panelling behind.
Flat-fronted storage cabinets make for an uncomplicated entryway design.
Inside the white bedroom, a platform bed has a floating effect thanks to recessed base supports and some under-bed lighting strips. The room’s flat colour palette really helps to make the feature pop. Over by the window, a black floor lamp and grey bedroom chair serve up some darker notes.
A small vanity area provides a place to wash hands once inside the home entryway.

In Odessa, Ukraine, a modern sofa design cuts a crisp silhouette into the all-white interior of a 107 square metre apartment. The sofa’s elevated base adds to the open and airy aesthetic of the living room.
In this home design, gloss black panels smoothly camouflage the disruptive black TV set into a bold stripe across the whole width of the room.
A black track light cuts a cool minimalist look through a clear, white hallway.
The hallway flows directly into the white living room, which allows light share between the two spaces.
Solid white modern dining chairs and a matching round dining table almost disappear from the centre of the room, as they meld quietly with the pure white floor. However, a burst of revitalising natural greenery is always a welcome addition no matter what the room palette, and is used here as an elegant table centrepiece.
Even the integrated appliances in the one wall kitchen are colour matched with white finishes.
A floating platform bed design “levitates” in this white bedroom too. A mirrored headboard wall adds to the weightless magic.
Fresh white decor seems to push out the walls of the small home entryway. Frameless doorways further simplify the look.

The last of our three featured home interiors is a much smaller yet perfectly formed abode, where white decor is key in visually pushing out the walls and ceiling line. A neat white TV stand is mounted at the base of a staircase that leads to a bedroom mezzanine.
The custom staircase design is an opportunity for storage. Precision cut doors slot exactly into the outline of the treads and risers.
Double workspaces demand a combined quarter of the limited ground floor area.
Every inch of space is eaten up for overhead storage cabinets, recessed shelving or desktop space and yet, thanks to the all encompassing white finish, the home office nook feels entirely uncluttered and calm.
A white swivel desk chair stylishly occupies each work area.
On the other side of narrow partition walls, a home entryway and a small kitchen diner complete the ground floor layout.
A solid run of white doors clear away the kitchen.
When the kitchen bifold doors are retracted, a warm, golden glow of light spills from the prep area.
The nearby dining table can be utilised as additional prep space in a pinch.
Hidden behind the kitchen doors, a grey accent wall bends the all-white decor rule.
Stainless steel kitchen accessories and appliances are complemented by the cool grey backdrop.
A crumpled, freeform dining room pendant light adds sculptural interest to the basic white interior.
A white entryway wall cabinet merges with the white painted architecture.
Up on the mezzanine, a kid’s room is secured behind a child safety gate.
A crib occupies one side of the mezzanine, whilst the parental sleeping area is elevated to create division.
Horizontal balustrades create a white window shutter-like aesthetic.
